As part of the Summit experience AMEC has come up with tailor made excursions to explore Stockholm at the end of the Summit. Friday 5 June is an ideal day to see what makes Stockholm special!

Bespoke Walking Tour

45 minute walk of the Old Town:
Find out how and why the Nobel Prize came about; where the Royal Family actually lives; what Stockholm people used to do with garbage; how narrow the narrowest alley in Stockholm is; how many live in the Old Town and what the cost of living is.

Rooftop Walk

On the island of Riddarholmen, 43 meters above ground, you find the roof of the old parliament building.

With a 360 degree view of the city of Stockholm this is the perfect spot for a very different walking tour – along the rooftop!

Dressed in a harness you are attached to a wire system that runs the length of our walk. We’ll actually be walking on a metal walkway designed especially for the activity itself, found on the roof.

Being custom made for this adventure, it optimizes the experience so we can focus on the panoramic views.

City Sailing Stockholm

Stockholm is rightly proud of the islands that it is built on. This is a morning sail on board a spacious and solid French 50-feet sailing yacht in and around the islands. It’s a great way to explore the beautiful city from the water.

Everybody, experienced or inexperienced will enjoy the sail. As you cruise, try sailing the yacht yourself under the watchful eye of the skipper, and become one of the crew by helping to handle the vessel. Or if you prefer to sit back and relax, it is up to you.

An experienced skipper on board responsible for security and guidance
Wind-/rain proof jackets/pants for all participants.
Life jackets for all participants

Sweden’s capital city spreads out over 14 islands in Lake Mälaren and looks out to the Baltic Sea to the east.

The grand public buildings, palaces, rich cultural history and museums tell the city’s 700 year-old history beautifully. One-third of the area within the city limits is made up of water, while another third comprises parks and woodlands.

The island of Södermalm, where the Summit Hotel is based, was traditionally the working-class area of Stockholm, whose grids of streets lined with lofty stone buildings create an altogether more homely ambience than the grand and formal buildings of the city centre. It’s here, in a fashionable area known as SoFo (south of Folkungagatan) that you’ll find some of the city’s most enjoyable bars and restaurants.
